Q: Scared I May Have Ppd-don't Know What to Do

I am not sure what to do. It is almost 5 mos after I gave birth and I just feel like I keep feeling more and more inadequate. I think everyone thinks I am a bad mother and I feel like they are trying to take my baby away from me. I am afraid my baby doesn't love me. I am sad all the time, and I feel like I am worthless. Does this sound like ppd, or just like me being emotional??

There is a real possibility that this is clinical and you need to see your doctor to see what they think. It in no way makes you a bad mom, in fact just the opposite it true. You are being a good mom because you are concerned about your feelings and the feelings your baby is feeling.

Don't waste time worrying, you know what the right thing to do is and now you just have to do it.

Good luck and I hope you start feeling better soon,
brian

've heard that ppd can strike anywhere up to 18 months after birth. It can come and go. I had that prob. I had it really bad a first, got better then got it again. I would really go see a doctor and get some help. Don;t be embarassed to talk about it as it is completely normal.

Hey brian!!! How u doing? How's jr??

I am doing pretty good, busy, busy busy. :)

baby brian is doing well too. He is teething and man it is horrible for that little bugger. I feel terrible for him because you can tell he is miserable and in pain and he does not understand why he is in pain.

Tylenol and orajel are about the only things that help right now. We also try to give him between 1/4 and 1/2 of a pedialyte popscicle daily. They ar really tasty and he loves them, since they are good for him anyway, cooling his gums off is really the thing other than medicine that calms him down right now. It looks like he is going to get 4 in at one time, 2 front in both top/bottom.

Thanks for the note and hope all is going great for you guys,
brian

((hugs)) for you!

You should go to see your doctor. If you don't feel like you can go alone, have someone go with you. Explain what you are feeling and he can help you ;)

good luck! Those feelings end eventually - but don't try to ride them out alone. Get some help, ok?
