What causes numbness? What also cause the rib cage to hurt underneath your breast on the left side?

Given your age, weight and pre-existing conditions pain beneath the breasts on the left side could be a heart problem. I recommend you visit your GP to check the blood pressure, blood cholesterol and sugar levels, as well as request an ECG exam.
