Q: I'm 17! How Do I Tell My Parents I'm Pregnant??

I'm 17 and i'm pregnant. What am I sappose to tell my parents? This wasn't sappose to happen. I thought maybe one day without a condom wouldn't do crap but it did. I'm scared of what my parents will say. My mom just started this jahova crap and what is she gonna think of me? I need help on this.. When I do I need to tell my parents?? My boyfriend is much older than me but I dont think she'l like that either. But I was thinking I would tell her when I start showing? Or is that a bad idea? My boyfriend said to tell her now. But I dont know.

I had another question. I'm 3 weeks pregnant. I've been having these really bad chest pains. Mostly I get them in my side. Like on my left side close under my boob but a little more to the side of it. When I get those pains, I get em bad in the side and when I breath in, it hurts so bad. Sometimes I cant take the pain. And the other day when my boyfriend was driving, I got this realy sharp pain in my stomache. It only lasted like 5 seconds. Does that mean there's something wrong? Or is this all normal?
And one more question. My boobs are getting bigger than what they were a while ago. But my nipples are alot bigger and right in the middle it's like a red color and the outside is like a darkish purple color. Is that normal?

Your boyfriend is right, tell her now it will be easier than doing it later and she will probably have a worse reaction if you wait. Its better to get it over and done with now. Your mum may flip out for a start, but you probably know that already, but i'm sure she will warm up to the idea fairly quickly, there are after all worse things that you could have done.
Even though it is a bit late, I hope you learnt your leason about not using comdoms. - sorry had to include that.
Good luck and let us know how it goes.

Maybe you could write her a letter and leave it somewhere for her to see it, that'd be easier? But you need to go to the doctor and get some prenatal (whatever I dont know how to spell) vitamins and get checked out. Good luck hun. =) keep us posted please.

Yeah thanks alot..
I was thinking the same thing about writing her a letter. I'm upset about what I did, but I cant go back and erase what I did. But my boyfriend and I will get through it. His been wanting a kid but we didn't plan this. I'm engaged to him and I told him I would have a baby with him when were married. But what's really cool about it is that my mom is a nurse. She delivers babies and she teaches childbirch classes and she knows everything about this stuff, so I can always count on her being there for me. :) the only thing I gotta do is tell her and then make my doctor appointments. Thanks 4 ur help.

How about you tell her face to face? Writing a letter is so impersonal and I think its a cop out to do it that way. Yes, its very hard but you know hun you made your bed and now you have to face the music. What's the worst that can happen? She'll yell? So, she'll get over it ! If this is what you really want then you need to be mature, yu were mature enough to sleep with an older guy now be mature and tell your mom the decent way.

If your mom is a nurse in the ob, you better tell her right away. She'll figure it out pretty quick. You know, she probably is the one buying all the tampons/pads for the house...And she'll notice you aren't using your share! Also, when you are pregnant and trying to hide it, you get secretive and hide yourself away. She'll notice that too. And the boobs and the moodiness. Telling her before she has a chance to mull it all over in her mind will be easier than waiting and fearing her finding out.

A note is really impersonal. If you can, you should tell her to her face.

All your symptoms sound normal. You need to start taking vitamins and get yourself to the doctor and get a check up.

You are more than 3 weeks pregnant. You count by the first day of the last period you had.

Good luck!

Lol nah terra, I wrote a letter and I wouldn't change it for the world. I'm not sure me and my moms relationship would be the same if I told her to her face, there were just too many chances for hurtful things that could never be taken back to be said. That was she had a few minutes (or however long she wanted) to take with it and decide her best actions rather then it thrown in her face and to react with the first emotions that came to mind. I feel I made the right decision for me and my family. Maybe for this girl it will be the same or completely different...Same with everyone else. I certainly don't regret my choice :)

I was 16 when I got pregnant and I had to call my mom and tell her over the phone because I was still in new orleans and she had evacuated for katrina and was in texas. It was difficult but after I told her she was really cool with it and was very supportive. I was going to wait and tell her when there was no hiding it or denying it to her but I figured that sooner was better.

Hey
Hi I was 16 when I got preg. I told my mom the day I found out she freaked out but then as time went by she calmed down. If I was you I would tell her now just in case some thing happens and you need her.

this is the voice of reason and experience. Ingi, you have probably just given the best advice and justification of advice that I have ever seen. Your points are true and they made valid with reasoning.

You really just need to talk with your mom. Regardless of her new found faith, it is not going to change the fact that you are pregnant.

Good luck,
brian

Tell Her Now
Well bootie_licious I agree with the majority of advice tell her now, I have been in your shoes and even though my mother and dad were very upset at me , they calmed down and supported me , now im a mother and my daughter done the same , she got pregnant at a early age , but she told me soon after she found out and I was very upset at first but I know how you feel like when this has happened to you and I was supportive of her and as time went on I was happy that I was going to be a grandma, just remember , they may scream at you or hurt your feelings but they will always love you and stand behind you in the end . Just learn a lesson from this mistake, and use protection next time.
