Q: Sweating During Sleep

For the past month or so, every morning I wake up, my head and neck are very sweaty. It is summer, but we keep our a/c on every night, and I never remember having this problem before. There is a very good chance I have sleep apnea, because my bf says every night I snore until I stop breathing for a bit, then I shoot up out of bed gasping for air several times a night. (i have not been diagnosed.) I was just wondering if anyone knew if the apnea might be causing the sweat, or if there's something else that would cause this. I rarely drink caffeine, but I do smoke about 10 or so cigarettes a day. Could it be the cigarettes? I have never gotten this sweaty head stuff before.

It is not uncommon for people to sweat excessively with Sleep Apnea. You may also be prone to anxiety, but regardless, when you stop breathing and hyperventilate your body is going into "fight-or-flight" mode which will increase sweating.
