Hello, i' m 47 (and a half), but whose counting :-))

recently over the last 6 months I have had 2 months where I had 2 periods , just get over one and exactly 13 days later get another one (quite a heavy flow too).... This is quite new to me as my periods have always been clockwork to the minute...

Also my joints ache alot... I'm going to see my doctor next week, is there a test he does to see if you are pre-menapausal?

Anyone else have any of these symptoms, I was thinking maybe I was getting arthritis but now I think it is related to the hormone changes in my body

any ideas?

What did the doctor say? I'm sure you found out that there is a test they can do to check your hormone levels.
I have battled with those symptoms for years. Mine turned out to be adenomyosis. They just recently diagnosed fibroids and endometriosis also. My joint pain is in my hip mostly but sometimes in the legs and back also. They had diagnosed me with arthritis in my hip but it flares up mostly when i'm on my period which like you said comes every couple of weeks or even more sometimes. But from talking to others i've learned that all these diagnoses can cause joint pain as well.

?? Adenomyosis, musclulosketal or arthritis ( ? wrong diagnosis)
I am having similar problems and have had for the past 15 months. I had the mirena coil removed due to it not suiting me, excess weight gain, mood swings, hot sweats etc. I asked several times before I had it removed. I then had groin pain radiating down my leg, then in my abdo then my right side. No-one seemed to know what it was, Gynae says it's not gynae. I've been admitted 3 times because of the pain. Last week I had a laparoscopy which I was told was negative apart from the enlarged uterus and fibroids, and to go back to my GP to refer yet again for muscoloskeletal pain. Prior to that I saw an Orthopod who diagnosed arthritis of hip as the cause of pain.
I paid for an answer from an online Gynae, who has suggested that it is more than likely to be adenomyosis. I tried to get my Gynae to listen but he's insistent it's not gynaecological. I went home with the intent on seeing my GP for referral to another Hospital but I feel like i'm flogging a dead horse. The last couple of days I have been in tears and that really is not me. I just hope my GP is on my side and wil refer me somewhere else as I will be showing him the correspondence as requested by the online gynae and hope that he will take this as a diagnosis and request further investigations. I have pain 24/7 which is more intense pre-menstrual and during plus I have had increasing flooding and heavy periods with HUGE clots. I don't know how long I can carry on like this. I'd better get a better response on Monday as my soul and quality of life has been destroyed enough.
