Q: Hepatitis C and Birth Control...no Hormones!
asked by: DoctorQuestion on June 29th, 2006
hello, I'm hepatitis C positive and I'll be starting interferon in about a month. I want/need to be on birth control by then, but I have a hard time remembering to take the pill. So, out of the other methods of hormonal birthcontrol which one is safest for me and my Liver???

Women with Viral C hepatitis are forbidden to use any kind of hormonal contraception. You might consider to use a condom or an intra-uterine device.
