Hello,
i am also new to this forum...
I was hoping that you could help me with
locating some information and possibly a
few head/neck specialists....
My mother was recently diagnosed with
squamous cell carcinoma of the tougue.
Today, she visited a head/neck surgeon and
gave her a description of the surgerical
operation that he would like to perform on
her. It included a 12 hour surgery.
They want to do a composite resection of
the left tongue, left neck dissection,
tracheostomy, skin graft reconstruction,
and free flap reconstruction. We are
going to get a second opinion.
Any ideas on where to go on the east
coast?
Also, is anyone farmiliar with alternative
treatments?
