why haven't you submitted your resume over the internet?

If there are places that will hire around your house why haven't you applied to them already?

Is there a mcdonalds? Bk? Arbys? Anything near you?

You aren't exactly a desireable hire, take anything you can get and I suggest you do it soon. I couldn't imagine that many employers will be all that thrilled to hire a pregnant 17 year old college drop out who will need to take several months off in a few weeks.

i don't have a resume.. I have no experience coz i've never had a job before.

The nearest fast food place is about a half hour drive from my house and i've already explained the problem of getting there! Did you not properly read my post?

I'm fully aware that i'm not a "desirable hire".. Is your post meant to be insightful, coz you're just stating things I already know.

i'm sorry this is going to sound so rotten, but you have knocked down every single suggestion anyone on this board has made that had anything with you personally doing anything at all. You have had an excuse for why you can't work. Why you can't drive. Why you could never get a job because you can't drive, etc.

How have you been getting yourself to the doctor? And the hospital? How will you get to the doctor to take the baby there?

What have you done today to make your situation better?

Yes it does sound rotten.

I'm going to see if they're hiring at the pubs down the road, I can get there on my bike.

They're not excuses i'm making up, you know. I got to my last doctor's appointment on my bike, and it took me about 3 hours. I'm willing to do anything for my baby, and you're just making me sound lazy.

You dont have money for the bus , ask the father of your child so you can work! You dont have this and that and this and that! Im sorry but everyone is right...You need to move your butt girl!!! I hope you understand that opportunities wont coming knocking at your door, you have to go get them! I am sorry that you had to go by bike but where is the father of the child? Why cant he help you with some money for the bus? Anyways.. Good luck ..I really do hope you have a better time!

no we aren't. We are only repeating what you have said. I never made anything up and I never accused you of anything. All I know is what you have said.

no problem, write one. No experience? Use your soft skills.
How are you planning to go talk to the pubs near your house with no resume? Just go in there and ask if you can have a job? I really don't think that will work.

i read yoru post properly, but it came across as a whole lot of whining and considering your attitude I figured fastfood was close but below you. You can get upset with me all you want, but you're the one in the mess and you're the one that doesn't seem to be doing anything with the advice so generously given by other members.

you may know it but you don't seem to understand it. If you understood it you wouldn't still be in the mess at 17 weeks.

Good luck, I feel for you.

Ok to help you get started here is a basic layout for a cv (resume)

name:
address:
tel:
email:
---------------------
school name, address, tel no:
head master:
form tutor:
exams - date - grade
gcse mathematics - summer '95 - b <<< example line, do one line for each exam youu took.

Any other qualifications earned in school
----------------------
info here on any college education - same layout ad for school
----------------------
any other qualifications - outside of school
ie first aid at work
st johns cadet
food hygiene
piano grade x
lifesavers
etc and date obtained
----------------------
list any jobs here that you had while at school such as being in charge of the school library, on a student committee.
Job - date begin - date end - reason for leaving
reading mentor - jun '94 - feb '95 - too much work with exams coming up <<<<<< sample line list each job on a separate line.
----------------------
list any jobs outside of school such as paper round - similar format
job - contact - date begin - date end - pay - reason for leaving
paper round - mr smith (tel no) - sept '93 - may '94 - £10per week - moved house <<<<<< sample line
----------------------
your interests
scrapbooking, 19th century literature, part of a band, etc <<< sample line.
Nb I like reading and clubbing isn't the idea. Expand on that what do you like reading, style, genre, author - why?
What kind of clubs do you like, why?
----------------------
personal statement
i believe I would be good in xyz position because...
[now is the chance to sell your self]
i am hardworking, committed, willing to learn, work well as a team, communicate well with people
you can really sell your self here

hopefully that shows that a cv (resume) is not simply a list of jobs that you have done but a synopsis of who you are.

Lancashire isn't that remote.
Have you tried the suggestions in my other post?
Motor way services provide transport.
I worked on m40 services for several months, uniform provided, free transport, meals while at work and a reasonable rate of pay.

If you get a job quite quickly, you will also qualify your self for maternity allowance for 6 months.

You are going to have to re-think your ways for getting to hospital though. You can't be biking to hospital at 7/8 months pregnant or in labour.
Your dad is going to see your bump sooner or later.
The sooner you tell him the more time he has to come to terms with it. He will be more mad the longer you leave it simply because you didn't tell him.

if all else fails sweetie, do what my friend did, claim homeless get your mum and/or dad to write a letter saying they want u out, they'll but you in a hostel until they find you a place but bear in mind you will have to claim income support otherwise they won't allow it. It will see you over these rough few months until you can get a good job. As you are not living with your boyfriend you can claim lone parent.

Once the baby is born you can claim child tax credit and child benefit. My friend gets around £150 a week which is enough for her to get by. I'm not saying this is a long term thing but it'll help you get on your feet and you won't have the stress of working until you decide to.

During your pregnancy once you are claiming income support you can get a surestart maternity grant which is £500 that you don't have to pay back. You can also get free milk and once baby is born free formula (if bottle feeding) or 7 pints of milk a week (if breastfeeding)

please see this link for more info:

hope this info is helpful. I pmed it to you aswell.
