Q: Do I have Multiple Sclerosis?
asked by: DoctorQuestion on June 28th, 2006
I am 16.I have a black spot that floats in the middle of my vision(often not all the time). I have double vision. I have a terrible memory(i meet someone and learn their name and forget it in the next five minutes and have to ask again, I can think a thought and forget it and I still know its important so I spent the next five minutes trying to remember it. Happend several times so far while typing this, I forgot there is a tree in my neighbors yard and though I absolutely know it is there I still cannot picture it in my head). I have a constant feeling of anxiety. I have spaz attacks(my muscles seize up and I have no control over my body).Very rarely I cannot move at all but this passes afer only a few seconds.I have to take a piss whenever I think about it. I sometimes have something to say and cant get the words out. Sometimes I see colors and patters swirling as I type this I see them. Sometimes when I look at the floor with patters they shape into forms. Other times when I look down at the floor it seems to get really far away and then back to normal several times and I get dizzy. I almost forgot the insomnia. But I dont know if that has anything to do with anything. do i have MS?

It doesn't seem that you have multiple sclerosis. It is likely that many of your mental problems are due to the eye disorder. Double vision, black spots, colors and patterns in vision can contribute to feelings of anxiety. Anxiety, in turn, can then cause memory problems and insomnia. You can visit an ophthalmologist for a complete eye examination. You might consider further consult a neurologist in regard to muscle spasms.
