1 week. It was tooooo hot to stay in the house and they told me to wrap him up and take him out to the mall where it was air conditioned. I did. He was and is fine. I took him out for a walk the first day we were home, he was 4 days old.

My doctor told me to wait six weeks before taking the baby out in public places. Babies have no immune systems, especially if you arent breastfeeding. Bottle fed babies take longer to build their immune system. I didnt want to take any chances with my son.

I honestly could not imagine sitting around my house for 6 weeks. Not saying that what you are doing is wrong if it's what your doc told you, but I could not do it and thankfully I did not have to!! Lol

No no....I took him outisde plenty of times for walks and stuff, fresh air is good for them. Whats not good when theyre that young is exposing them to all sorts of germs in public places like shopping malls etc. Like I said they dont have immune systems yet to fight off sicknesses.

I waited 6 weeks until I took brayden anywhere, even though we go places now, he's almost 4 months and hasn't gotten sick yet.

Hahah sorry I took my kids out on day one and went out alot I think elisa went through a colicky stage and it was the only way to get her to sleep, cam I brought out all the time and what was funny is I had visitors(sick) at my home and my son got rsv (bad bad bad)....

Babys need to build an immune system I even stopped boiling water at 5-6 weeks for the fact that how the f*** are they supposed to build an immune system if you dont let them get used to everday stuff. Since my I brought my son into things the nurses were amazed at how quick my son recuperated from rsv...

My doc said 6 weeks, I waited 4. I really don't think that heading outside with lots of fresh air is a problem at any age (even day one), I would be more concerned about places with recycled gross air and all kinds of people (like the mall).

yes! Do what you think is right. I think babies are quite a lot tougher than we are lead to beleive (in germy situations anyway). You know what is best for your kid. Do a little bit of research and then hit the road! (or not)
