I was diagnosed with hypoglycemia probably about 1.5 years ago. I never really put myself on a strict diet, but I know I should have (should be now). I just follow the guidelines (most of the time), and i've been pretty well besides two major low points after my diagnosis. I'm very good right now. I'm even to the point where I can wake up, and not eat for an hour, and I won't be nausiated and unable to eat, although I will have a headache for the rest of the day.

So, i'm going to spain for the month of july. We'll be doing quite a bit of traveling, but i'll also be taking classes in madrid. The program includes 3 meals a day. But, it says that breakfast is just a muffin. It may be that I am still able to *purchase* an actual breakfast, but i'm not sure. Do you have any suggestions for foods like granola bars that I could eat for breakfast.. Like as my only breakfast.

How are these?
I've gotten some of these chewy honey nut granola bars
i got some fruit granola breakfast bars.. Is that not good for me since the fruit is sugar??
How about the lance toast chee crackers w/ orange cheese crackers and peanut butter on the inside? I eat those all the time (i just mean these as a snack, not as a breakfast meal)

of course, i'll bring granola bars, nuts, crackers, whatever on me at all times in my bag.

Thanks!!

I'm probably not the person to ask about this, because if you look at my list you shouldn't be eating anything you just mentioned there. Hmmm, not sure what to tell you, definitely bring a backpack with you and some tupperware or other kind of containers so you can carry your meals around with you, depending on what you have to eat. If you're able to eat granola bars, then I suppose that's okay.

I would look for protein bars, as well. If I remember correctly, eas makes pretty good ones and they're not loaded with sugar. Of course, nuts are a great snack.
