Hi!! I'm 39 years old and thinking about getting my tubes tied, I never had any children. My question is: is there a risk of getting pregnant at all? Is my risk higher or less? I hope some one can help me!! I'm not sure what to do. If any one can help please reply. :?

Well hello there! I am 24 and childfree, as I do not want any children either.

Yes, unfortunately there is a small, itsy bitcy, minute chance you could get pregnant. I work in an abortion clinic and occasionally see women with tubals in there, they are usually shocked.

Unfortunately, nothing is 100%

Hello there!! Thanks for replying. When I was reading about tubals, I couldnt beleve theres a chance of getting pregnant. That would surely be my luck. Thanks alot!!! :)

The most effective form of tubal ligation though is the essure procedure... But you have to wait 3 months to have unportected sex, and you have to have an hsg test done to ensure the tubes are blocked =)

essure involves inserting springs into the fallopian tubes, scar tissue grows over these springs and permanently blocks the tubes. It is more effective than a traditional tubal, and costs a bit more too...
