I think my sister has trichotillomania.

Whenever the family sits down to watch tv, I notice her picking at
the hairs on her knuckles a lot. She also pulls at strands of her
hair on her head and now has a small bald spot on her head. In the
past, my parents have reminded her not to pick at her hair but i
think they grew tired of that because they don't say anything about
it now.

I'm not quite sure how to bring up the topic. I don't want to bring
up any additional unnecessary pain and conflict, because I know she
is also taking antidepressants. Could depression and
trichotillomania be linked?

I am 21 and my sister is 29. She also happens to be a medical
doctor. So I don't know if I should say that she should see a
doctor. Maybe she is in some sort of denial?

I really want to help her because I don't think she realizes she has
a problem.

What should I do?? Please help!!
