Q: Yasmin And Neuro Symptoms

Hello everyone! I've been reading messages on the topic of yasmin, and have discovered some pretty scary things. I don't recall reading anything about the symptoms i'm having, however, and i'm very worried -- to say the least!

I just finished my 2nd month on yasmin 28, and am now on my period. I've been taking it because my doctor suspects I have pcos. I see her again in a couple of weeks to undergo further tests.

I've noticed this week that i've been having some strange symptoms. (they may have been occuring before this week -- my placebo week -- but weren't as noticeable.) there has been itchy prickling in my forearms, hands, calves, and feet. It's not exactly "pins and needles," and there hasn't been any numbness that i've noticed; it feels like i'm being bitten by a mosquito, or something like that. And sometimes when I put on a pair of jeans, it sets off a chain reaction in my legs that feels like a mild case of prickly, dry-skin, winter itch. And just yesterday I started feeling little tickles and itches all over my body. It's very minor, but concerning.

I've also been experiencing muscle tics or twitches, which seem to have worsened this week. My muscles will twitch just once or twice, and stop on their own. If the twitching persists, I only have to touch it and it stops. It's mostly in my legs, but it can happen anywhere. Even my left eyelid has been twitcing a little. That's happened before, when i'm under a lot of stress or have been reading a lot (as has been the case lately). There doesn't seem to be any twitching after I exercise -- as if the muscles are too tired to twitch -- or when i'm lying in bed at night, or during sleep.

Of course I do have other symptoms, like light-headedness, but i'm more concerned about those i've described above because they aren't listed as known side-effects of yasmin. I'm just worried, and wondering if i'm being paranoid. Have any of you experienced similar symptoms? I would appreciate any insight. Thanks!

Extremely eHealthy
I am not on yasmin but I do hve eye twitches, pain and body tingling and spasms but I have a lot of medical conditions and a lot of people's eye's twitch I know that it can make you feel embarrased kind of because it makes you feel like you are winking at someone. Have you asked your dr to change your b/c or maybe talk to the assistant or nurse about what is going on so they might send you to a neuro. Maybe someone else can help you out more here as I am not a dr but that would be my suggestion.
Good luck to you and keep us posted as to what you find out.

Yasmin
When I went off Yasmin in 2006 after 8 months of being on it, about three months after I was rushed to the hospital for a hemorrhaged cyst on my ovary. Some doctors say birth control helps control inflamation, other doctors say it develops cysts. I don't know!
