Hi,

i have a family history (father's side) of bowel cancer all his siblings died of it.

I have noticed a sweet, musky smell that it appears only I can smell and my bowel movements have had a strange smell to them also, there has been bright red blood on tissue when checked and my appertite has almost gone. I am by nature a big guy and weight loss has been almost impossible for me but i've lost 2st in just under a year and i'm constantly tired.

Am I worrying myself into an early grave? I'm terrified to go to the doctor's.

Any thoughts

You should not be terrified of going to the doctors. I,personally, would be more terrified of letting things spread (if it were something). Cancers are more treatable in their early stages. The sooner you go to the doctor, the sooner you will get the treatment you might need.

At least seeing a doctor might put your mind at ease. Good luck.

Thanks
Many thanks for the reply.

I know I should...And I will. I know it's the right thing to do and putting it off is stupid, I think its where it is that's my problem. The intrusion and all that.

I must bite the bullet and do it!

Bit the Bullet..
Hi, thanks for that.

I did eventually pluck up the courage to go to the doc's. He's sending me for tests...

good luck. I know the tests for this kind of thing are 'invasive' - but knowing is so much better than fearing the unknown!

Let us know how your testing goes!
