I have had epilepsy since I was a baby. I was put on medication and for the same reasons I am having right now my mother would slowly take me off the medications. My question is why does the medication affect me the way it does?

Effects of the medication:

constantly tired in and out of it. Sometimes incoherant. Very dizzy and light headed. My head spins. And I feel the need to lay down most of the time. Can you help me

I am not sure how old you are, but consistancy of use of epilepsy medication is extremely important. You need to speak with your neurologist and take the medication exactly as perscribed. Discuss any problems with him or her. It does take weeks and sometimes months to get used to these meds.

I take topamax for migraines and know it can take a long time to get used to them. Hang in there, but please< talk over these problems with your doctors, and not just these kind of internet boards.

Do not stop taking meds. It is too dangerous.

Seizures are too dangerous as well.
