Finally the dr called this afternoon, w/ the hida scan results. His gallbladder isn't working. They didn't give specifics, they said the surgeon will go over all of that w/ us. They referred us to the surgeon. We have an appt on monday at 2 pm. The surgeon is really good & I just him. All the years I suffered from crohn's, anytime I was in the hospital, he would come by & check on me & read my charts. He's never operated on me, but he did my mom's gallbladder surgery, & my aunt & dad has had surgery & he did those. So he will get his gallbladder removed really soon I hope. He's in alot of pain today, but he has to stay at work, so he's miserable. He's really worried about having surgery, but we're glad we know what's wrong. I'm pretty nervous & worried too, I know he'll be okay, but it is surgery. Now the fight to have it done is probably the next step as we don't have insurance (baby roger's the only one). We can't pay for the whole surgery, so we're hoping they'll let us pay some down & pay the rest out. Another option is to go through the er if they won't work w/us. (my cousin who works at the hospital told me, but she thinks we won't have a problem since this will probably be emergency surgery. Can anyone who has had this surgery please let us know how it was? Were you in alot of pain after? We're hoping for outpatient surgery, since he does not like hospitals at all. Thanks everyone!!

What did the surgeon have to say? Do you have an operating room booked?

Thanks for asking hurtin. The surgeon said that his gallbladder is functioning way to fast & contracts too hard, so it has to be removed. He will have his surgery on friday, july 7th @ 8:30 am. The surgeon only charged us 1000.00 instead of 3000.00 like he usually charges & the surgery is usually 9700.00, but they're doing it for 3452.50 & will write the rest of it off. So they're both paid for. I was shocked that he doesn't need to prep before surgery, he just can't have anything past midnight the night before surgery.

I like the way you can get into surgery quicker than we can in canada but I sure don't like the charges you have to pay for it. He'll end up feeling better ahead of me, I don't go till july 11th.

Sure hope it's the end to the problems, good luck!
