Hi,
my wife (24) is experiencing a very back pain condition. Historically she started having severe back pain when she was about 15 one day when she was in school..She couldn't;t remember of any accidents or events that triggered that. But ever since that incident she would have a severe lower back pain followed by a pinching pain going down to the thighs not down to the legs but making her leg weak and unable to walk. She used to take complete bed rest for about 15 days and she would be back to normal. The condition briefly went away for a couple of years and she thought she was fine but..
This year the condition came back couple of months back when she had severe lower back pain and we saw the gen doctor and the lower back lumbar x-rays were done , a mri was done with contrast they both came back negative. The doc was thinking it was muscle related gave her a muscle relaxant that hepled the lower back pain but now she has pain all over her back and sever pain in her right thigh and upper right arm.
She is also finding it difficult use her right hand fingers.
The doc has ordered for a emg test now..Not sure what it could be
it sounds really scary..Her appetite gone very very low. She feels really sick. Doc currently has her take hydrocodone but that is very drowsy and habit forming

anyone heard of this or point us to where we should go next. It has been 2 months since we have been seeing our pcp shoudl we go to a spine / neuro specialist ?

Thanks for your patience. Any thoughts would be appreciated by us.
