I had a hysterectomy last august and I tried to lay around as much as possible. It was hard because I have a four and one year old but my mom and husband helped when they could. Please take help when you can get it and take it easy. I did not want to be back in the hospital for anything else so I did as little as possible for a few weeks. You may feel as if you are being lazy I did but in fact you are just giving your body the rest it desperately needs. Good luck to you Smile dori

Hyster 1 Week Ago
Posted: 03-30-04 13:51pm

Hi
i am 36 yrs old and I had a hysterectomy 1 week ago today. I feel great, I only bled really light for the first two days and now no more bleeding. I have three children and I had the procedure done due to a ovarian cyst and fibriods, I had my uterus and cervix taken out and part of my fallopian tube. I have no more cramps and no more pressure and I feel great, only bloating and thats it. I too get frustrated cause I wish I could do things, I cant seem to just lay down. But I know I will regret it if I dont. The only major complaint is the bloating in my tummy, and also my tummy hangs a little tiny bit over my incision, and I have to wear a guaze to make sure it doesnt get moist from sweat. But other than that I feel much relief from the pain I once had prior to the surgery.
Thanks!
Good luck and I hope you are feeling good.

Hi,
i just wanted to say, i, too, had this surgery. I am four days post-op, and have to go see Dr. This afternoon. I havent done much since the surgery, my husband and four girls wont let me. The most I have done is wash a few dishes, only because I was home alone, and I didnt like looking at them dirty in the sink. Wow, I felt like I had run a marathon! Oh, and sunday, we had a family dinner out at a restaurant, we ended up having to take the table upstairs, for some other people claimed our table, isnt that funny? And my mother was mad because I had to climb stairs, but I did okay. I did okay, I just didnt think a family outing and out visiting would tire me out so much! If anyone wants to talk about their surgery or anything else, please contact me. I want to talk to others too!
