Q: Dealing With a Spoiled Cat

About a month ago we bought a new glider/ottoman set for nursing the baby. Of course, our pampered beast of a cat fell in love with the thing. She pretty much assumes we bought it just for her.

we're having the crib delivered in a couple of weeks, and i'm a bit nervous about my kitty. I really don't want her thinking it's okay to jump into the crib. Any suggestions?

Get a crib net or cot net depending on the size to deter her, they are also ideal for the summer in case of wasps etc

What a beautiful cat. I had one just like it ! I would be very careful with the cat around the baby.....I don't trust them especailly if they get jealous....Try keepin the door closed at all times and scold her when she goes close to the crib but that might make it make jealous.....

Spoiled Cat
Hi,
i was worried about the same thing and I was told to put tin foil anywhere that you don't want the cat to go. They don't like the feel of it on their paws, (you could set the crib up before the baby gets here and try it then). I was also told to get bitter apple spray from the pet store, but this won't work on the crib. My cats freak when a door is closed so that doesn't work for me.

Good luck

Her name is .Asia. She's pretty stubborn... Definitely used to being the center of attention. She's gotten pretty mad at me over the last few months since I don't let her sleep on my stomach anymore. I'll probably look into getting a crib net... Not sure if I want to cover the crib in tin foil just yet. :)

My cat is the same way. We live in a basement appartment for the time being and the only door we have is out back door and our bathroom door.
My cat jumped in the baby crib 2 times I just screeched my voice real loud and the good old squirt bottle did wonders. We have had our cat for 8 years and he has been the only baby until now well until the end of august when haley lane will be born. My cat is all four declaw but he has a mean slap, I just hope he accepts the new baby.

We have 4 cats....... I know, right? I'm nervous also what they're going to do when the baby is born. Although it's quite a ways away.. 3 of the 4 are incredibly spoiled &have complete run of the household. They may calm down a little by march, they're young kittens, now. Thackery will be 1 next month. Versace is 5 months. Asia is 3 months, almost 4, .I believe. &.Peaches is old &fat &she's 6 years old. Lol. But .I'm even more nervous because when the baby is born, we very well may still be living in my boyfriend's very very small, cramped trailer. :/

Be careful witht he cats around the baby. They like baby milk a lot and will lick the babys mouth and can possibly suffocate it.I would get a net or keep the act completly out of the room

Because cats make a mad dash thru an open door every cahnce they get, then hide under a bed or behind a dresser til the coast is clear.

&.Besides, you can't always keep the door closed 24/7. There's going to be times, no matter what, when the door is open.

And since when do gates keep cats out? Don't they just jump over it? Unless you have a gate like a screen door that's taking up the entire doorway or stairway.
