Hello

my husband is 34 and over the last couple of years has been diagnosed with several unpleasant things. He has eds (ehlers danlos symdrom), osteoarthritis, fibromyalgia and he has hip spurs. Oh yeah he may be on the road to reumatory arthritis, he has symptoms but it doesn't show in his blood. We moved to az for the dry weather and it has helped out quit a bit. The problem is his hip spurs. They are hurting him so bad. He can't really walk much at all and suffers from major pain. I am in the process of getting him an appointment for the institute for bone and joint disease here in phoenix. Hubby said he wants hip replacements because he can't take the pain anymore eventhough he is on pain meds. We are both mentally freaked out over all of this. He can't imagine going through the rest of his life like this. We are so beside ourselves and I just try to stay strong.

My question is...... Can someone with eds get hip replacements? His mom said that "someone" told her you couldn't with that joint disease. I haven't found any info on it. I understand if you have vascular type eds because of blood clots. My hubby has hypermobility type eds.

I don't know.... I am so nervous and worried. Any info would be helpful.

Thanks
