Q: Getting X-rays When Ttc

When does it become unsafe to get xrays? Before ovulation, or before the actual conception? I have to go to the dentist (new office because I moved) and they won't work on me until I have x-rays. I am going on thursday...I shouldn"t have ovulated until sunday or monday, but you never know. Since we are ttc...Should I do it? I really need my teeth cleaned and I don't want problems when i'm preggers. Any advice is greatly appreciated!

It is safe to have x-rays while ttc. They just use caution while you are pregnant, because it may harm the fetus. If you think you might be pregnant just tell the radiologist and they will cover your belly with a pad. Which in most dental x-rays they put that lovely heavy apron on you. Plus dental x-rays are the safest x-rays because they are such a small dose of radiation. Good luck!!

I have an appointment on thursday, but I am due to start ovulating wednesday. That means I would be having xrays done real close, or right at the time of conception. I am worried because this seems to be a crucial time when dna and the genetic profile begins. Thanks for the advice and info....It's amazing, i'm not even pregnant yet and i'm already worried! Lol I can't wait until I am a parent!
