Q: Got a Question About the Hida Scan

My hubby went for a hida scan. Is it normal to feel really nauseous & to be able to feel the gallbladder contracting? After the test he is still nauseous & in pain, more so than he usually is. I'll get the results tomorrow & anything under 50% they want his gallbladder removed. We have a feeling we'll be planning on a surgery. Please give your input. Thanks!

Did you get the results yet?

I felt exactly the same way, had far more pain that when I have an attack but it only lasted a few hours. My gallbladder was not working at all and i'm scheduled for surgery to remove it.

Hope you got the results you were hoping for.

No, we're still waiting. Hopefully we should get them today. We're hoping it's his gallbladder & he'll have surgery to get it removed. Thanks for the reply. What was your results?

All they said to me was it didn't work, it had to come out but then when I met with the surgeon I was pretty disappointed when she said "this may or may not solve your problem, by the hida scan report your gallbladder needs to come out but that doesn't always remedy the problem."

i'm scheduled for july 11th unless they can fit me into a cancellation spot.

Good luck, I hope everything works fine for your husband.

Yeah... It may not be the remedy for our problem... :(

getting the gall bladder out may not solve all our problems...But at least we'll have one pain source eliminated... 8)

but i've read something online that red currant (juice or pill) can help cure biliary dyskinesia...

Let's try that...
