Is there any way to get rid of scars or make them less visible?

I have some scars on my hips. I used to self-harm, but I regret it all so much now. Since the summer is coming up, my mom's going to force me to wear bathing suits, and she doesn't know about my the scars on my hips. Is there any way I could make them less visible? Even if it's temporary?

Please let me know.

You could get a swim suit with a skirt attached to it. Would that work? Or you could buy a sarong (spelling?) to wear over your bottom. Have you ever told your parents or anyone else about your problem? It might be good to talk about it with somebody.

I was actually thinking that I just make excuses for the bathing suits that show my scars. I'm going to buy something that makes scars less visible, although after reading about the stuff on the net, you can't exactly make them go away.. :/

dermablend actually makes some great concealers that are water resistant. If you want, I can ask my mom wear she gets it from.

U can use any make-up foudation on the area you want, there are some water resistant foudations...

If you think about cutting yourself again, u have to talk to someone.
