How Many Days After Your Period Can You Get Pregnant? (Page 2)

November 24th, 2009
yes you can!
ok! yes you can get prego at any time,my obgyn even said that! all this calculation adds up to myth's! coming from doctors.i got prego last year, and got prego 4 days after my period,it is possible to get prego anytime.theres no safe window,no accuracy.it depends on your body, and your body changes constantly.so my answer to your question hun is you can get pregnant anytime.if your wondering about it seriously go buy a ovulate test from walmart i think 8 comes in there, then the next month by another one,you will see that im right about what i said in the beginning.good luck hon.god bless.

@louisa, hi hon and congrats on the 6 yrs yall have been together.if your trying to have a baby together,i would recommend having sex about 4 days after your period and continue on having sex for up to as many days as possible.also if you would like to know the days you are ovulating so it would be more easier,go to walmart and buy an ovulating kit.it will help you to know which days you are ovulating.only thing you have to do with those is pee on them the same way you pee on a pregnancy test.try the info that i have giving you.and if it doesnt work then i would recommend you go to an obgyn and they will tell you, your most fertile days! let me know girly! wishing you baby dust! god bless!

yes its possible and some women do but it depends on your cycle and how frequent they are. its best to chart them and get yourself an ovulation kit, they have the guidelines for women who have periods anytime between 20-45 days apart and depending on your cycle they let you know the correct time to conceive based on an ovulation test taken around your ovulating days so for instance, if your periods come every 21 days then start testing on day five. if they come every 27-28 days use the test 9 days from when your period starts and keep testing until the test shows your LH levels are high and you are ovulating then you have 36 hours to try. its best not to eat or drink anything except water four hours prior to taking the tests and make sure you test the same time each day. So if you do not get a positive reading on day 9, try again the same time of day on day 10 then 11 Smile

Yes its possible considering that sperms can stay in the body up to 5 days. Since your cycle is 28 days, you are likely to ovulate 14 days later. Having intercourse between 9-15 days of your cycle is likely to lead to pregnancy...

yes very much so. you could be ovulating around that time so keep trying between 8-12 days and get an ovulation kit to be sure. if you do not know the exact time of your periods each month, the tests recommend you take them 9-10 days from the day your period starts to be sure then when its a positive you have 36 hours to make a baby, it might not happen straight away but the results are very high with a test and most women not all but most who use these kits find themselves pregnant within three months, good luck xoxoxo

buy an ovulation kit. because they are made to let each individual woman know when she is ovulating and that can be as early as 5-10 afterwards NOT 14-16 days, which is why i could not get pregnant
an ovulation kit goes by your average cycle time
if your cycle is in the normal range 26-28 days then any time between 9-11 days after ward is when you need to take the ovulation test
you can check the clearblue ovulation kit test on this forum, i did and its been very useful.
so waiting fourteen days is not for every woman unless you get your period 32-35 days each month then sure but ovulation happens between 10-20 days depending on the woman and with PCOS in woman it can take up to forty days, and i know a woman who got pregnant with PCOS thanks to an ovulation kit AND charting that comes with the kit, its great
There is an ovulation test on the clearblue easy site, and a digital kit is best too as you get smiley face result when you are ovulating and a sad face when you are not. It pays to take it the same time every day during you expected ovulation (3-4 days so take 3-4 tests the same time each day)

question of interest
I just have a question for some of the people who have posted on here asking when its best to have intercourse with the intentions of getting pregnant. Why nit just have intercourse every night or every other night then no matter your cycle you are at least hitting a day or two of your window? Why do you just have sex when trying for a baby? That makes it less fun and when women orgasm the way your muscles move it also increases your chances.

Having sex every night for months at a time can be quite tiring. We all have other things to do as well, so the time may not always be there, or we can be just too tired, or we may not feel good and horny.

A women is only fertile for around 7 days every cycle. Out to those 7 days, only about 3 or 4 are very fertile. It makes a lot of sense to try extra hard those few days.

Added to this, normal lubricants can trap sperm and make it more difficult to get pregnant. So you would ideally like to limit the use of your favorite lube for the less fertile days. Some couples also like some other activities like blow jobs, masturbation, hand jobs, anal sex or ejaculating on her body. These are obviously not good for conceiving. So timing it gives you the opportunity to be as kinky as you want to be and then switching to straight missionary sex during the fertile times.

If your partner have low sperm production, it is also better to have sex every second night to make sure he 'reloads' fully in between.

I am sure I did not even list all the reasons.
