Hello
Do you have ibs maybe? Symptoms are almost the same as gallstones. Have they checked you for that.. Or maybe you cant eat glucose. I know someone allergic to glucose which means you cant eat any wheat.. And wheat is in a lot of foods.. Try to go on a diet with no wheat or ask your gi to test you to see if you are. Hope that helps some..

Ei..
Oh... Thank you... I'll check on that and ask my gi about it...

Anyways, I am scheduled to have hida on friday... And rehab medicine on the following week... So I hope this would be the end of my problem...

I'll check and read more about ibs... Thanks a lot, klmrag....

It would be helpful to know what other tests, besides the hida scan that you've had and what the doctors have ruled out so far.

I battled stomach pain, ulcers, and erosions for over 4 years only to find from the hida scan that my gallbladder isn't working. This was after 3 endoscopes, a colonoscopy, cat scan, many ultra sounds and 20 biosies. I've come to the conclusion that medicine is a process of illimination and while they find lots of other goodies along the way it's not always the cause of your problem.

I'm hoping they've found the problem now and after my gallbladder is out the pain will stop but they don't promise anything.

Yeah... I agree with you.

I have acid reflux since late 90's. Was takin' zantac and it helps a lot before...

Recently, I underwent gastroscopy which determines I have slight gastritis and esophagitis (erosion), had 1 upper ultrasound, 2 whole abdomen ultrasound, adbomen xray, thora-lumbo sacreal xray and series of blood chems, urinalysis... All negative for serious problem..

Try look for some alternative medicine near you like acupuncture, reflexology...

And look for thefatbook by william p smedley

Been there and done that one too. Massage therapy actually made the situation worse so i've about given up on those methods.

What I eat really has no effect at all. I've kept a journal for months and I can eat exactly the same meal with no problem one day and a week later be doubled over in pain from it. Fat does not bother me at all, I can eat things like ice cream with no problem but give me a boneless chicken breast and i'm wishing I would die.

Like you i've been given many a diagnosis with the latest being acalculous cholecystitis. The doctor explained it this way, my gallbladder is filling with bile to the point it's ready to rupture then it dumps it all at once causing major pain and the bile is burning my insides as it's so thick by the time it's released hence the ulcers and erosions.

I just want it out, the sooner the better.

Dang right!!! It's really kinda boring... But, it was all fine... I fell asleep during the procedure...

Hmmmm.... Unfortunately, I was told that it was the first time they'll be doing the "gallbladder ejection fraction" though it wasnt the first for them to do hida scan :( and they couldn't find a cck (hormone) anywhere that time so instead of the hormone they gave me fatty meal (ensure plus and a burger) so I hope they know what they're doing that time...

The result will release on monday... I hope all efforts, time and money didnt go to waste...

And the results are....

Nuclear medicine doctor's result says:

"dynamic imaging of the abdomen for 15 minutes was obtained after administration of 8mci tc-99m mebrofenin. After visualization of the gallbladder, fatty meal was given (ensure plus) and dynamic imaging was continued for another 60 minutes. Gallbladder ejection fraction was calculated using the frames with the highest counts and the frame with the least counts on the background-corrected time activity curve.
Initial dynamic images show adequate and homogenous hepatic tracer extraction. The proximal biliary structures was visualized at 4 minutes, followed by the gallbladder at 8minutes.
After the fatty ingestion, subsequent images showed tracer egress from the common bile duct to the small intestinal segments.
Gallbladder ejection fraction between 4.5 minutes and 21.5 minutes is 31% (abnormal value <33%)"

doctor's interpretation:
"visualization of the gallbladder and intestines within one hour is indicative of a non-obstructed hepatobiliary system.
Slightly lower gallbladder ejection fraction"
__________________________________________ ________________

now, my question is....
Are your result's format or the procedure as stated above are the same with your procedures?
This is the hospital's first ever testing of ejection fraction to an individual here... And they dont have cck stimulation to modify my hida...
