Frozen Shoulder
Further to my posting on the 14th january, I am still having a lot of pain from my shoulder and I can also "feel" a clicking movement.
Has anyone any ideas what this may be?

Frozen Shoulder
I am diabetic and had a frozen shoulder which I corrected myself. I bought a book from amazon.Com called the triiger point therapy workbook. My shoulder was also painful and I couldn,t raise my right arm as high as my left. Within 5 min. Of giving myself a massage on the trigger point that causes the frozen shoulder, I could raise the arm as high as the other. I don,t know if I can help here, but the arm that hurts, deeply massage the area right in back of the neck and to the right, towards the shoulder, about 3 to 5 inches down, but massage the whole area with your fingers, and you might find relief, you must do this 3 or 4 times a day, hope it helps a little. Am editing to correct spelling on book the trigger point therapy workbook. Perhaps you can find someone in your area familiar with this type of massage.

Frozen Shoulder
Hi gram 1228, thanks for the advise. I got my husband to massage on the trigger points around my shoulder after your advise and I have felt a bit better although, as you said it has to be done several times a day but it is worth it.
Anyone who has had a frozen shoulder will know it is very painful.

Frozen Shoulder
I had one many years ago. I was given a shot of cortisone in the shoulder. They also have pills you can take but that would take a little long to relieve the shoulder. A frozen shoulder is a calcuim deposit in your shoulder. Wherever there is a joint it can happen. Believe me I know. Wink do not baby it. Once you get the injection or pill you need to move it as much as you can. Wink

Frozen Shoulder
Further to my other messages about my frozen shoulder, I have been using arnica gel every day. My husband massages my arm and shoulder each night with it and it seems to have helped.

Frozen Shoulder
To hdh,
apart from arnica gel which is very good in giving relief from the pain as an external application, there are remedies like sanguinaria can, chelidonium, chinopodium, calcarea flour etc., which taken internally can free the ligaments and relieve frozen shoulder.

Frozen shoulder is also known as adhesive capsulitis, which means that there are adhesions around an inflammed (swollen) joint capsule. It is NOT calcium deposits. Frozen shoulder, for some, might be caused by calcium deposits. Mine was caused by impingement syndrome. I also have used the Trigger Point Workbook by Clair Davies--he's a known authority on trigger point work in the massage world--and it has worked for me. Arnica has never done anything for me. I use Tiger Balm; it's harsh, but it works. I have seen the most benefit from the massage and chiropractic.
