Why would the gi specialist have to stop an ercp (endoscope procedure) used to remove gall stones?

Does it happen frequently? I have done much reading and never read about this happening.

Should I seek another Dr. To do an ercp or is there another procedure or treatment for a possible stone in the common bile duct?
