Hello...

Sory for the long post however I just want to know if any one has had a similer problem as to what I have and if so, where to seek help.

About 5 years ago I injured my thumb which caused it to really swell - didnt think much of it at the time therefore I didnt seek medical attention.

When I went to play badminton that week however I noticed that my grip "changed" and I couldnt hold the raquet as well as before - I was aware of a change in my grip.

I then studied my hand and noticed that the finger which is situated between my middle finger and pinkie had started to point out the way. This prompted me to go to my gp who then sent me for an x-ray, which came back negative.

Over the coming months my muscles in my hand where now noticably disappearing and my hand becoming weaker, my gp refered me for nerve treatment tests (two years waiting in the nhs), which, to my surprise came back negative.

My gp then said that the only thing that he could do was refer me to a physiotherapist so that I could strengthen the muscles in my hand again.

This has not helped at all and I still have the weakness in my hand and my finger still points out the way.

The thing that upsets me most however is that during all the medical experts that I have discussed this with, not one has explained why my hand is like this.

Any help on this would be greatly appreciated

ps im 25 years old

thanks for reading

Hello johnny,

how did you injure your thumb?
Which sports you do and how often?
What kind of work you do and how often?

Without knowing more of you, you should try 1-2 sessions of acupuncture and 1-3 sessions with a 'soft' chiropractor. A soft chiropractor helps your bones align without the 'pop' noise or 'cracking' associated with most chiropractors.
