I dont like the way I look, I know that im not totally fat but I feel I am overweight. I would like to loose weight. I throw up aprox 14 times a week but I dont force myself to do it, I dont need to do anything to make myself throw up, I just do. I dont think im bulemic
but I know I have a bad outlook on the way I look.

The signs are there, but only doctors can tell you if you are or you are not...
You are killing yourself if you continue doing that.. :\

Its not something I would really suggest trying to aquire. A close friend of mine had anorexia and bulimia and it digusted me, but now im starting to do it- I dont know why I am, it just seems so different now that im the one doing it. Making yourself throw up isnt a pretty thing..Just think about someone walking in on you doing it.. It wouldnt be something I would like to see someone else doing, but yet I do it all the same. I dont know even why I do this , it seems to be a natural response now..

look, of course it seems different and stuff, but just because you can do it now it doesn't mean that you have to do it. You have nothing to prove to other people or so it seems, so you should just stop purging and stuff and start getting healthy before you die. And this is a serious advice.

Sometimes, it's not about how much you weight. It's about what your thoughts are and what you do because of them and how much that controls your life.

I know... I've been suffering from bulimia for some years, like about four years now, I guess, and it starts with the obsession about the food and the weight.
I'm stuggling against it. Stopped purging and binging and i'm doing a better eating. Belileve me, everyone can be fine without an eating disorder.
My first step, if you want to know, what stop vomiting. First I stopped doing it so often and then I stopped for good.

Take care!

I know just how you feel, I felt the same too. And I thought a lot before comming to a forum and tell my problem, but I really needed to talk, even if no one would give me an advice.
It helps a lot? :)
anytime, I be here - or send me a private message, if you ever want to talk in private.
Cheers :)

Not doing it is the best thing at all, definitelly. You can both fight those urges and be strong enough not to do it.

If you are truly thinking about quiting talk to your dr or start a journal and write down any thing and everything, it can also show if you are improving or not and see if you might need some professonal help.
Good luck to all of you!

Wow. So, the reason I found this thread was because I was searching about bulemia and finding blood. Anyways, I had your same problem when I was 14. I was throwing up, but I never made myself do it, so I thought I couldn't possibly be bulemic. You are bulemic. If you don't believe me, try to stop. Here I am 7 years later still struggling with the same problem. My therapist once told me the next time you want to throw up, do it in the mirror. It is horrifying to see yourself do it. It really isn't normal, as much as I wanted to think it was. Like I said, it is a very ugly disease, evidenced by the fact that I STILL struggle with it everyday. I just hope you realize that you are bulemic, and that whether or not you have to stick your finger down your throat (or any other object, such as the spoon someone suggested..), it is not normal to throw up your food.

One really bad side effect of throwing up repeatedly, that no one has mentioned here, is that the stomach acid will eat the enamal off your teeth. Its very sad to see young beautiful women in the prime of their life with that tell-tell bill-board right there for the world to see. It can also cause you to have a heart attack. If you ever feel sharp pain in your chest when you throw up, take this as an early warning sign and stop immediately!

throwing up that often is serious, you may not think so because yoru not forcing yourself to as you say. but any person that throws up that often is doing damage to there stomach and esophagus

You're still making yourself throw up whether you need to use your fingers or not...I used to think it wasn't a serious problem because I could just lean over and purge whenever I wanted to after eating, it wasn't like I had to force it with fingers, etc., but you do damage all the same to your teeth, esphogaus, throat, and it is a conscious decision whether you throw up or not, it wasn't something that just happened in my case, I did have to get up and go to the bathroom and decide I was going to purge and then I would...though in my case, I was more anorexic or ED-NOS as I didn't really binge before purging and restricted a lot...

Many bulimics are normal weight for their height or even overweight.

Please do get help. It's not normal to be throwing up your food that often.
