I Feel Different. I'd Be Grateful For Some Opinions!

After having unprotected sex june 4th, I have felt a definite change in my body. Not so much in terms of pregnancy signs but I don't feel like me too much. I was due for my period on the 5th or 6th of june and it pretty much came on time because I got it on the 7th. It was dramatically lighter though and ended completely on the 9th. This is strange to me because I usally have a 7 day period.

People have suggested that I may have gotten a shorter period because I haven't had intercourse in a while and that can change your cycle or that I am stressed. I have been very moody about the craziest things. I have almost cried more than once everday for the past week or two. I am not a crier normally. I have also been very irritable. These feelings begun after the 9th (end of bleeding) my friends suggest the feelings i've been having are all in my head but they are so distinct to me that i'm not sure if I should think the same.

Anyway, I have been feeling kind of weird down there and have expirienced a lot of things that are new to me. Today I also noticed something different; when I feel my lower abdomen, it feels very cushy and firmer than usual. When I don't touch it, I feel as if it is stretching my skin a bit. My hips have gotten a lot wider (everyone has mentioned it). And that's about it for physical changes...I'm just trying to provide as much details as I can.

I know if you don't use protection there is a chance of getting pregnant for everyone so, what I want to know is what some opinions are on the possibility that I am. Also, I have been trying to figure out the best day to take an at home test but all the suggestions that i've read on pregnancy sites have confused me.

I'd really appreciate someone's input

thank you :)

Well, I don't know about a best day since you have had what seems like a period but might not have been, the best time is your first morning urine. Was your bleeding heavy at all? I have never heard of sex changing your cycle either. I would say if you are thinking you might be pregnant get a test and take it first thing in the morning.

If you were pregnant, you wouldn't even have any symptoms yet because it hasn't even been 2 weeks. The fact that you got a 'period' and relatively on time is an indicator that you are not pregnant.

Short or heavy periods are not determined by how much or how often you have sex. Whoever told you it might be a lighter period because you hadn't been having sex that often is obviously not very educated on the female body.

If you feel you are pregnant, you should take a test when your period becomes late. Which should be in a few weeks.

Go to planned parenthood and get some birth control education. At the very least, use condoms ~ always have your partner wear condoms.

Thanks for replying :) um so, should I take a test around july 6 or 7? Or sooner? Also, is shortness of breath something to worry about in the case that I am pregnant? I am about 20 pounds overweight so I usually suck in my tummy when wearing clingy shirts but recently I haven't been able to as easily at all. I've been losing my breath a lot without even being that active. Even if this is not a sign, does anyone know what could improve this? Should I take shorter breathes or deeper breathes, etc?
