Divirticulitis

Being bloated or swollen is all part of divirticulitis. I had it for 7 years till I started having infections for no apparent reason, anything I ate gave me an infection and I finally had to have surgery. My gastro doctor told me that once you start having recurring infections it is best to consider surgery because the lining of your colon can get really thin from all the bacteria and it could rupture. I am not trying to scare you but just be cautious if you have recurring infections. Some people like my brother only gets it maybe twice a year and he does great on cipro or flagyl.
