You can start your pills 2 ways =) sunday is an easy day to remember, and that is why everyone always mentions sunday...

#1 way.. If you start while you are on your period, you are protected immediately..Lets say you started your period on wednesday, well you start your pill on sunday and you are protected immediately.

#2 way.. Start any sunday , but you have to use back-up for 7 full days!

Warnings?
Thank you so much! I was also reading the warnings about the medication and I couldn't help but wondering if there is a good chance of developing a blood clot! It also said that a blurry vision or sudden loss of vision could be a blood clot in the eye etc. I just want to know if this pill is worth taking for my acne and birth control. Thanks

Blood clots are very very rare, especially with the newer low dose pills, but they still have to mention it.

Women over 35 and women who smoke are at a higher risk of having a blood clot.

But if you were to get pregnant your risks of blood clots would be even higher than if you took the pill and smoked!
So all in all you are safer being on the pill, the risks of pregnancy are far greater.

I cannot personally use hormonal birth control, so I have an iud..But most women do better with yasmin as far as no weight gain(even some weight loss), and better pms symptoms =)

yasmin is also available in a super low dose verison called yaz =)

Anti biotics do not have as much effect on plan b...

So if you had sex while on an antibiotic, and it has been less than 5 days, then it is a good call!

I have been on yasmine for over 4 years...

I love it. I can tell you this for a fact that I start my pills on a tuesday, and once I take my last pill on the last tuesday of the month...My period always comes 3 days after...

So I made you a cute lil chart:

last b/c pill: period day:
sunday wednesday
monday thrs
tuesday friday
wednesday saturday
thursday

this is how yasmine has always worked for me. This might be the same with your body, might not. Maybe it takes your body only 2 days not 3 like my body.

Hope this helps

Thanks carifairy & da_dez_bombzzz, you really helped me out because it is my first time taking birth control and I did my little research and got scared about the results that people had with yasmin.

As for yasmin, I had terrible cramps that I had to go see a doctor the first day I took my pill. He assured me that it was becasue I didnt take it as I was suppose to (i took it the second sunday after my period). So he advised me to take it the next month. He also gave me plan b beacsue of a lil mishap  and I thought that antibiotics would ruin the effect of the plan b.

Thanks for the reply :d
