Baby Lying Transverse

Hi,
i am 37 weeks on sunday and my little guy
is still lying sideways.
I find out tommorow through ultra sound if
he has moved.
Anyone know the chance of him moving?
If it is a c section, do they do the up
and down cut? Read online they did

I had a c-section not to long ago and they
didn't do an up and down cut. I've never
personally heard of them doing it that
way, or anyone who had it done that way.

Friends of mine have had them done that
way because they were heavier girls I
believe.
I have no problems having a c section.
I have read about how they can try and
move the baby and I am not too sure about
having that done

I think i've seen that done on television
shows before. I think all they do is push
on the stomach in certain ways to try to
get the baby to move. I've never seen it
actually work. I could be completely off
though, so don't go by what I say.

If they are telling you that you will need
a c-section with a vertical incision it
will not be thru the skin. You will
still be cut along the pubic bone but when
they cut into your uterus they will do a
vertical incision in order to get the baby
out. Now a days they won't leave a scar
from your belly button down....Unless
there is something else wrong but I dont'
think they would.

having a c-section done up , down is the
old method.They stopped doing it that way
internationally in the late 80's. They
started doing the way we know c-section
now below the naval for esthetic purposes.
But I am guessing youre will be done the
usual way.

No they didn't stop doing them like that
internally, at least mine was done that
way and mine was 2 years ago.

Hmm yes they have stopped doing them
internationally ....But like mentioned
above there are exceptions ..No one ruled
anything out.

I believe emergency c-sections are up and
down, other than that it's the "bikini
cut" by the pubic bone.

hey there....Actually my sister had an
emergency c-sec and she is the standard
horizontal way. I beleive depending on
the circumstances they cut
differently...But for the most part
vertically is not commonly done much these
days.

The reason they said that they did mine
was because my skoot was too small and for
his well being it was safer to deliver him
that way. I was only 26.5 weeks along.

you still have time for the baby to change
position before even considering a
c-section. There are things you can do
to coax the baby into a head down
position, you just have to be willing to
try them.
1. Get down on your hands and knees on
the floor 2 or 3 times a day leaning on
your elbows with your arse in the air.
Stay like that for about 10-15 minutes
each time, if you can handle it.
2. Get a really bright flash light, and
while you're sitting on the couch hold the
flash light in your lower abdomen. The
light will actually shine through your
body and the baby will be able to see it,
and out of "curiosity" may change position
to find out what it is. Do this
regularly.
3. If you can get a recording of a
heartbeat, play it loudly pressed up
against your lower abdoment. You can
also try playing music "down there" as
well with similar results.
There's a web site called spinningbabies
http://www.Spinningbabies.Com/ that you should check out. It has some
great advice for coaxing the baby into the
best birthing positions. If trying to
"spin" the baby doesn't work, then your ob
will most likely try to physically turn
the baby from outside the womb by
manipulating your belly. Sometimes the
baby turns back into a transverse position
after being turned successfully, but only
after that should you consider allowing
them to perform a c-section.

I had eclamptic seizures so they had to
deliver him to make them stop. He didnt'
make it. He had hypoplastic left heart
syndrom and being so little they couldn't
even attempt to do surgery to correct it.
He only lived for three days. He was
born on tax day. April 15, 2004

angel and my husband is now holding him
and they are looking down on me and
amelia. Really I don't mind talking

you just gave me major goosebumps!
As for the whole c-sec thing, it all
depends onthe baby's position and how much
of an emergency it is and what not. I
had an emerg c-sec and my scar is so faded
and well done no one can see it even when
I am showing it to them-lol. But my sis
had a scheduled c-sec cause my niece was
butt first and they did it up down (my
niece is 7)

Did they do the external incision vertical
too......Ack!!!!!!
Yeah my little skoot is being held by his
daddy now. That is how I have been
coping with the whole death of my husband.
It gives me goosebumps to think about it
too.
