Q: Staying Up Late?

Does it affect your blood sugar?

I stayed up the last 2-3 days till 4:15 am because of work. And then I got hypertension symptoms, anxiousness, jumpy nervousness came back by the 3rd day.

But when I first started the low carb diet, I was going to bed around 10pm. And then I stayed up late one time around 1am, and the next morning I would get crash symptoms. And then as I got better I was able to stay up late with less symptoms.

So then this week I worked really hard, then suddenly got the hypertension symptoms.

I dont know if its the food that I ate, I also started eating avocado, does avocado have a lot of sodium? Or its from staying up late. I think its more from working hard and staying up late.

Definitely the last thing you said. As far as I remember there is hardly any sodium in avocados. I know myself that if I stay up late and, say, go to bed 15 minutes close to two hours after my last meal, the next day I will have problems. Staying on schedule is critical at first. It won't hold you back, but if you stay up past when you should you can expect to feel bad the next day or the day after that or whatever. When you sleep you of course use less sugar, that's why the final meal is larger than the others and why you should go to sleep no more than an hour after eating it.

I noticed I am able to stay up longer than before tho, during the first weeks of the diet, I would feel the effects of staying up late the next day.
Seems like now the effects comess 2-3 days later. Does that mean body is adjusting ?

Sounds like it to me. Your body may able to take the strain initially, but then it gets a bit worse a few days later. Makes perfect sense to me because i've had it happen with other symptoms and other slips that i'm not supposed to make.

Staying Up Late
In the beginning staying up after 11:00pm made me feel much worse. What helped was to eat a snack before going to bed, and to go to bed before 11:00pm.

Generally, when I am stable, I find that going to bed before 12:00am is best for my body. Your body will tell you the signs.

If you stay up to late, have a snack.
