Q: Staying / Getting In Shape ~ Questions

I know it's too soon to be worrying about this, but I was wondering if any teens know of a good routine (eating and exercising) for losing weight after the baby is born.

I'm carrying twins and am going to get quite large, unfortunately (already gained 20 lbs. And only half-way there), and am just as excited to lose the weight as I am to see my babies!

Also, what are some good things to do while pregnant to help make weight loss easier later on and keep me healthy now? I know it'll be difficult for me to do anything in a couple months, but until that time comes i'd like to be doing ~something~ so I don't feel so... Big.

i've read things a few places saying walking is a very good idea, even if it's only a brief 10 minute walk daily. Is there anything else that can be done? Walking is fine, it just doesn't seem to be very much of anything.

One last thing... I know that women that are a bit older (upper twenties and thirties) may not go back to being their old shape after child birth... I always assumed that being a teenager, young and flexible, i'd go back to normal eventually with little to worry about. Have many of you found this to be true?

Thank you!

Swimming is also suppose to be a really good form of exercise during pregnancy. Personally after my pregnancy i'm going back to veganism, which makes you lose weight pretty fast and you feel so great, so much more energy, you get sick less, ect ect. But it's pretty hard and strict, and not really for everyone.

Ah... I wish I liked swimming. I don't really like getting wet, even if i'm not pregnant.

Veganism? Like no meet or anything? Yeah, that is strict... I wouldn't ever cut out meat... But i'm deffinately going on a diet!

I'm going to do weight watchers and play dance dance revolution every day for an hour or so. I love weight watchers because you can eat whatever you want and it's wicked easy.

Try to eat as healthy as possible and do moderate exercise like walking during your pregnancy so that you won't have such a difficult time after you give birth. Eat small meals frequently, including lots of fruits and veggies. Avoid enriched flour and try whole-wheat breads. Avoid things that have high fructose corn syrup or partially hydrogenated oil in them. Try to walk as much as you can a day, and it should really help. Congratulations!

Thanks everyone.

I know a girl who did weight watchers (not because of pregnancy weight) and she lost a lot and said it was really easy to do! I may have to look into that. :d

thank you for all the advice. 8)

I highly recommend weight watchers. I've done it before (on my own, not with the meetings) and I lost 80 pounds, so it definitely works! Have fun with whatever you do.

I know that this is going to sound really weird....But I did it after I delivered my first child and it put me right back to my pre-birth weight and helped me loose more.

It's called "strip to fit" and it teaches stripping moves and dancing. There are pole classes and stuff like that. It's very privet and quite and there isn't anything to be embarrassed about. They teach you how to move and grind like strippers do. I found it very easy to loose the weight and it also encurraged me to diet and eat less because I wanted to look good.

I can also say that.....My hubby liked the 'new me' as he called it. I learned to make the moment in the sack a lot better by giving him a tease dance first.

I plan on picking it back up after this one too. It's fun and exciting. And it's not just like a normal arobics class.

I will deffinately be looking into weight watchers.

The strip to fit thing sounds interesting. Sort of reminds me of those carmen electra tapes. I couldn't afford classes or anything, but it's another idea. I can see how that'd make you more motivated, so I may pick that up, too. I'm sure my boyfriend would appreciate it as well. :d

I'm just amused that you called women in their upper 20s "older." lol

^_^' sorry, I just meant older than teenagers.

I quite personally don't think you're old until mid 40's at the earliest. I mean, you're only half-way through life then!

Sorry for the confusion. :d
