I just had a baby in october of 2005, and I need to get on some form of birth control because i'm now ready to begin sexual intercourse again. After the birth of my baby, I got on ortho evra (the patch).. But I stopped it after a month. There are so many bad things i've heard about the patch; it causes bloodclots, stroke, and ever death. I guess i'm really just scared to take it, and i'm trying to find the best birth control method for me. The pill is not for me.. Because I got pregnant on it (ortho tri-cyclen lo). And the shot isn't an option for me, because of the hormones (i don't really understand it, but my doctor went over it with me).

Anyways, how do you feel about ortho evra? Should I get back on it??

I have heard many good things and bad things about the patch but it effects every single person differently which is something you have to take into account. I was on the patch once but taking the pill at the same time and that just wasnt for me however I do not want to get pregnant again before my wedding so I think I am going to go back on the patch I loved it actually it just peeled a little on the edges(which is no big deal even though the instructions say otherwise) an it was very sticky when I took it off. I do recommend putting it on ur arm or shoulder ... Hips and butt are a bad idea and tend to come off more easily or move around. But thats my take on it. I refuse to go back on the pill and im nervous to try the ring so im going to stick to the pathc til I get marrried or get fed up.

Hope that helps
