Hello everyone,

i am a 19-year old male student from miami, fl. About four (4) days ago, I started experiencing a pain on my left side. The pain is located above my hip, and just under the end of my rib cage. I really wouldn't consider it a pain, more like a pain/discomfort. The reason I say this is because it doesn't hurt while i'm sitting idle. Only when I make certain gestures. For example, when I lower my head and look down sharply, it sends a sharp pain to the area. Also, when I engage in a running motion, the pain triggers again. Its extremely annoying. I don't even know how to categorize this. Many people I have spoken to have told me two things, 1) its muscular, or 2) its a swollen intestine.

When I first got the pain, I began to worry, and I ran possible scenarios through my mind, from kidney problems, to a strained nerve. I looked up a diagram of the upper body and the organs located within, and the only organ in the area of my pain is the small intestine.

Finally, the left side pain/discomfort is accompanied by a swollen throat. In other words, my throat is sore, and I could feel it swollen because I have pain when I swallow. The sore throat gets better throughout the day, but it is as its worst when I wake up in the morning. Thats when my throat becomes really painful. Is there a correlation between my pain and my throat?

I made an appointment to see my doctor on thursday, but I would like an opinion from anyone as to what it could be. Maybe i'm just overreacting.

Thanks in advance. :d
