Hey, hi everyone-occasional reader, first time poster! (well, on this part of the forum)

i posted this on the preg forum, becuse that's where I usually post (even though my "baby" is a big seven month old now!!
I thought if anyone was up to date with this kind of thing it would be people trying to concieve-

well, about a month ago, we had ourselves a little pregnancy scare- seems we aren't quite as "scared" as we thought we were, and are now actually considering trying for baby 3 !!

We have two beautiful daughters, which we are delighted about, because we wanted a girl to begin with, and then we wanted her to have a sister.
I have a feeling, if we were to have another baby, it might be a boy- and we've gotten ourselves a bit excited about the prospect of a son. We've even pretty much decided on a name for him !!
My family seems to only have one sex or another- girls, or boys, only 2 of my aunties have a mix- one had 3 boys then a girl, one has one of each. Everyone else has 3, 4 and even 5 kids of the same sex.
All my cousins (girls) have only had girls so far (at least 16 of them! Plenty of girl cousins for my girls-if they didn't all live in dublin and london that is!!)

do you think I hve a hope in hell of having a son? Does anyone know of anything I can do to increase the odds? Anyone tried, or know anyone who tried those special diets and timing and stufff with any success? Or is it all just a bunch of crap to sell books and old wives tales?

We are the total opposite of you, after having two boys and a lack of girls in both our families we would love a daughter

when I was looking this up I came up with some information that said the female sperm are stronger than the male sperm but the male sperm is quicker.

This means that if you have sex close to ovulation the male sperm are likely to reach the egg first because they are quicker, if you have sex a few days before ovulation the female sperm is likely to get there because they are the stronger and are likely to last longer.

This theme followed all through the article, it said women who climaxed during sex were more likely to have a boy because this brought fluid that would help the sperm on its way...Thus the quicker sperm getting there faster.

Positions are supposed to help too, if you use ones that ur partner can thrust inside you deeper, this is supposed to be good for making boys while if you want a girl a man ejaculating near the front of your vagina is supposed to help because the sperm have further to 'swim' meaning that the stronger (girls) are more likely to survive.

It all went on alot like this! I dont know whether I believe it or not but I hopes this helps u alittle! And I hope it wasnt too confusing lol!
