Cholinergic Urticaria No More!!!!! Posted: 06-12-06 16:08pm
Yay!! I no longer have this horrible
condition which I have been suffering from
for 8 months!
I think theres a number of things that
have helped cure me.
I have been taking neoclarityn 5mg every
morning and xyzal 5mg every night (both
common antihistimines)
i also looked into vitamines that are good
for the skin, I settled for a vitamin b
suppliment and a multivitamin supplement
which I take every morning with the
neoclarityn, cost me $6 in total!
I have now been breakout free for a week
and I havent even had the slightest hint
of an attack , I havent even itched and it
has been very very warm here in the uk the
past few days!!
I really hope this gives cu suffers out
there belief that this thing will go away
and I would strongly reccomend anyone with
cu to take vit b suppliment on a regular
basis

Good to hear that you are cured! I have
some questions for you.
Do you continue to take these meds to cure
your cu?
Did you stop using the medication and as a
result are hives free?

Hi josh,
i continue to take the neoclaryton and
vitamins in the morning and the xyzal at
night, I wouldnt dare stop taking them and
i'm not to sure which thing has actualy
cured me (it could even be that the cu has
just burnt out on its own)
another thing to mention, i'm living in
the uk and it has been very hot recently,
I tried to get a little sunlight for as
long as I could stand every day untill one
day I was lying out in the sun all day and
never an itch!
I did however have a little bit of an
itching sensation last night when I was
stressed out on my xbox, but it was very
mild and I immediatly stopped (i realise
that the cu just doesnt tottaly dissapear
oiver night)
i wish you all the best and good luck! I
know first hand how hard it is to live
with cu!

Thanks for starting a topic and sharing
what works for you. Please keep us updated
on how you are doing and what is working
for you.
Unfortunately I might have to give you a
little bit of possible bad news. You say
that you had been suffering from CU for
approximately 8 months prior to your post.
From my calculations that puts the start
of your CU at about October timeframe. I
am sure that a lot of posters here will
agree with me that their CU is at its
absolute worst in the wintertime. The
reason for this being that the allergic
reactions and their severity are dependant
on drastic changes in temperature. In the
summertime, unless you close all of your
windows and blast the A/C you can't
experience as drastic a change in
temperature as you can in the wintertime
so the CU has the apperance of "going
away", especially if the weather remains
constatnly hot like you mentioned in your
post. The fact that you had a small
itching sensation at night (when it might
have been cooler) could have been a
reaction at a smaller scale.
I don't want to damper your positive mood,
but if your CU ever comes back this
winter, this can be the explanation why.
What I described is what I experience and
I sincerely hope that your experience is
different than mine and that your CU
really has gone away.
