Ok, well i've been spotting with a light brown discharge for about a month now, and my entire vagina is really red and swollen. The redness and swelling began about a week ago, along with burning when I urinate and my entire vagina just feels sore... Like it was rubbed raw. The last time I had sex was about a week ago. I'm not sure what it all means, or maybe if i'm making a big deal out of nothing and I just have a yeast infection.

It sounds like an std to me. Go to the doctor and have a swab test done. Dont have sex again until you know what is wrong. It could be irritating for your vagina. Dont put anything like dettol or anything on it cause it will irritate it more.Or polyester/nylon knickers. Make sure you go to the doctor soon cause if it is an std it can make you infertile.
Maybe it could just be a yeast infection, go to the doctor.
Hope this helps, all the best.

Yes, go to the Dr. (most likely a yeast infection, but better to be safe than sorry, right?), but for the redness/swelling/pain/burning, i'd recommend getting a tub of plain, unflavored yogurt and applying it liberally to the area. Wear a pad with it and don't wear for more than 24 hours without showering. This will help alleviate some of the pain/burning until you see a doc. Trust me, it works wonders!

As far as the spotting, are you on birth control? Eating disorder? High period of stress (no pun intended)? All these can affect your cycle, and it's normal (i think) to have some brown discharge once in a while (just old blood).

Thanks I will try that yogurt thing!

As for the spotting I am under a lot of stress (i just got done with finals and moved), I don't have an eating disorder but the doctor gave me diet pills so I don't really eat much... Hopefully that's all it is! Thanks for your help!
