Hi,
my mom is 80yrs old and we placed her in a nursing home a little over 2 months ago due to her not being able to care for herself due to alzheimers disease or dementia....We have seen a pretty rapid deteriation of her memory over this time, but just recently she became almost obbsessed with god and jesus....She will someties sit for hours doing her so called prayers (thanking god and jesus) other times she will keep telling them over and over she is sorry for her sins and the way she treated my sisters(she was a good mom, so not sure why she thinks she wasn't)the other nite she rang my phone and my sisters appp 20-30 times and just kept repeating over and over about god, don't think she even knew there was someone on the other end. Last nite she was holding down the button on the phone,so now calls would go thru and then talking and praying to god and jesus. Yesterday and today she became very upset because I came to visit when she was "praying" and decide that now I was cursed and was going to die. Is this a form of psychosis?....Yesterday a psyhcitrist prescribe a low dose of respirdol for her phsycosis.....Can any one give me some ideas of what might be happening with her?

Extremely eHealthy
I would try to get hold of her Dr. I am not a dr, it could be a lot of things!
My .Dad had alzheimers and it was horrible, he did not know anyone, could not feed himself, dress himself, he went from 225lbs to 90lbs but I would try to talk to her Dr.
My thoughts are with your mom and your family!

Thanks so much for your info and for thinking of my mom and our family. It's really appreciated. Will talk to her doctor and see what they come up with. They took blood on fri to have tests done. Never knew it could come on so quickly.
