Oh my gawd, that's so exciting, kimmie! Okay, well, I would say to get a place in west edmonton, but not directly beside the mall. My cousins all live right around there, and the one who's getting married is getting a gorgeous condo about two kms from the mall. The south side is really nice too, but it's always seems so far away to me. :) millwoods (in the south side) has ikea, though, and all the good restaurants.
I actually live right outside of edmonton, closest to west ed. I wouldn't advise north edmonton, because that's the slums where I go every friday to do work with the inner city. Not a good place for a baby.

I would have to say pick west ed. That way you'll be close to the mall, and it's probably the best. :)

keep me posted!
