Hi,

i have trichotillomania and pull my eyelashes and leg hair. Now, i'm a guy, so the eyelashes aren't a big deal, but the leg hair is. It's really embrassing that the insides of my legs have no hair, while the outsides have a ton. When I pull my eyelashes, they grow back quickly, within a month or two. Now my legs are different. I haven't had hair on them for a long time, for years actually, but that's of course because i've been picking hair on my legs continually throughout that time. There's always freshly grown hairs on my legs, but I pick those out before they have time to really get thick. I've been picking for a long time, and I just stopped a couple of months ago. My leg hair hasn't grown back, some places I think I can see hair, but it's not above the skin yet, and in some places there's nothing. Does leg hair take longer than other hair to grow back? Like I said my eyelashes only take a month or two to come back. One area of hair grew back rapidly on both my legs, but not the entire area. One thing I was thinking too, my eyelashes get plenty of sun, but because I never wear shorts anymore my legs never see the light of day. Could this be part of the problem? I really want to be able to enjoy swimming and stuff again. Any advice?

Thanks

I've been pulling for 9 years. Mostly my eyelashes and eyebrows. My eyebrows in a lot of the area won't grow back at all. I was told that its probably because you've pulled the roots out so many times. Also, regarding never wearing shorts.....i don't think that only wearing pants would stunt the growth.

blending in
I pulled for over 3 year, im a male and I pull from my feet, my hands and my scalp. I stopped pulling from scalp for 2 weeks and 2 days and its regrowing pretty good. I can still notice a thinner area on my head but its starting to fill on, i think i have about 2 to 3 weeks more until it would be completely unoticable. I usually pull most of my hair from my hands and fett and they are totally bald but it does not concern me becasue not one notices. I also have missing hair on the sides of my legs, but i don't pull those hairs, I sure it is because I never wear shorts and my jeans are probly wiping them off. But my leg hair does not bother me either cause I always wear my pants, only my scalp is they only thing that is making me go crazy and look like a freak. I think im going to make a goal to stop pulling one area at a time. First scalp, then hands, the dow to my lega and feet.
