I posted this on my usual forum but they are not exactly being "helpful" so I was wondering if you guys have any input.

Well since we decided to wait until after the wedding to get pregnant it looks like im going back on my birth control after this cycle. However I was wondering which method u ladies preferred. I was on the pill before (ortho cyclen) but I was taking 2 a day and after 4 months it really started taking its toll I didnt want to have sex at all ... I didnt even want him touching me really and it made me sooo grouchy I couldnt even stand myself and it really put a strain on everyone. However my midwife recently gave me a prescription for the nuva ring and a prescription for ortho cyclen but only taking one of them a day instead. So I was wondering what u ladies preferred and why because I dont know what id rather use at this point. I dont want to be like I was before but I dont noe if itll be different taking just one a day.

If anyone can give opinions thanks a bunch!!!

I took yasmin for awhile and it made me crazy, so I switched to ortho tri cyclen lo and thought it was fine, but i'm bad at remembering to take the pill each day. I told my Dr. And she switched me to the nueva ring. At first I thought it was great, but everytime I had sex I could feel it in me and I wasn't enjoying it because I thought my boyfriend could feel it too. I just was uncomfortable (but only during sex). Well, since I want to enjoy sex (for obvious reasons) I have switched back to ortho tri cyclen lo. I think it's worth taking the pill each day then having to feel some ring up there and making sex uncomfortable.

However, apparently some people never feel it at all. Perhaps you'll be one of the lucky ones because the ring is really easy.

Dosage: Tri-Cyclen Pill VS NuvaRing
I have been taking Tri-Cyclen 28 for years now, and am happy with the results...both for birh control and mild acne management.

I have been thinking of switching to the NuvaRing because it's cheaper and I don't need to worry about scheduling a pill everyday (cause I've been having a crazy month and skipped a few pills).

My main cocerns about the NuvaRing is the dicomfort level [with having a foreign object lodge up there for 3wks] and the dose levels. Will it provide sufficient hormones.

You can totally feel the ring during sex but the good news is that you can have it for for up to 3 hours without it losing its effectiveness. I was always really bad about remembering to take the pill so the nueva ring is GREAT for me! I haven't had any side effects at all yet. I initially got on birthday control because of my severe cramps and other things and even my first period while on the ring was lighter and not as painful. I was way less moody the week before and have had less headaches. I swear by it!!
