Q: Chances of Pregnancy From Backwards Condom

My girlfriend is currently worried that she might be pregnant, as she is a few days late in beginning her period. We have had a fair amount of sex lately, which i'm sure is the reason for her worry, but every time we have any contact, it is always with a condom. All condoms were within expiration dates, never broke, tore, or spilled. The only possible reason I could imagine that she could have become pregnant was if I put a condom on backwards before correcting myself and wearing it correctly. Which, unfortunately, I think I did once. I know that pre-ejactulate can contain sperm and I know it is more likely to if an ejactulation has occured beforehand. But if this occured in our case, what exactly are the odds of a pregnancy happening with such a small amount of potentially dangerous fluid? Assuming she was ovulating, is such a small amount able to cause a pregnancy?

Now this may be stupid but I never used a condom so how do you put it on backwards?

Where it doesn't roll down the right way. If that makes any sense.. But im not sure how you got it on if it wasn't the right way to begin with. If shes already late by a few days on her period she should take a test to be sure... Because not one of us will be able to tell you what the odds of her being pregnant really are.... Theres always a chance.

Technically?...Yes. Likely?...Not so much.

I'm sure you are fine, it is more then likely the stress of being late that is the cause of actually being late. Take a deep breath, relax, and go get on the pill.

Seriously, i'm sure you are fine, considering that not only does sperm die almost the instant it hits the air, but most condoms are lubed up with spermicide.

Thank you all. It doesn't seem likely, but there is always a chance, so we we're quite worried. I didn't actually put the condom on completely backwards, I just attempted to roll it on backwards before realizing I was mistaken and then I put it on correctly. One other thing is that she's been known to skip periods entirely. Two months ago, if I remember, her period never came at all but resumed as normal the following cycle. So she's not exactly "regular". Still, she's worried and i've asked her if she wants to get a test but she doesn't think they are going to accurate, especially this early.

When is her period due? If it's late she can take a test and it should be accurate. I'm sure she's fine though but maybe she should test anyway to put her mind at ease.

She should have started the 5th or 6th. As far as when exactly I made this error, it was probably last week, around the 1st or 2nd.

Then she'll need to wait. You can test after it's been like 2 weeks. That's about how long it takes for the pregnancy hormone to show up.
