Q: How Long For Complete Recovery After Appendectomy

I had an appendectomy(old fashioned kind) march 29th...Though I am pretty well done with any kind of surface pain around the scar I still feel some slight pain and discomfort inside where the appendix used to be...This usually only happens if I walk or move too quickly...Is this normal to still feel some discomfort in that area 2 and a half months after surgery and if so when can I expect to get back to the point where I can do physical things pain free?

Thanks

I had the open surgery too, at the end of january. I would say that in a few more months you will have pretty much no pain. I have alot of scar tissue though, and so if I press on it, I can still feel pain but it does not restrinct me in the least bit. I just notice it at night sometimes. Everthing sort of has to fall into place without something being there. And with the open surgery your muscles have alot of healing to do. I would say if you're that worried about it. Go back and talk to your surgeon, it can't hurt. And let me know what he says lol!

Good luck,
krystle
