Hey yall!!! Kayoni had a .Dr's appt yesterday and here's how it went!!!

I initially went in for dehydration due to diareahhea...

She was weighed in her diaper only when she got there and was 10lbs. Even. On her last visit 3 1/2 weeks ago she was 8.4/5 lbs. According to her .Dr she .T.R.I.P.P.L.E.D the weight she was supposed to gain. She was supposed to gain 9oz and tacked on 30!!! He doesn't believe that I only feed her formula every 4 hours with sugar water in between her feedings. I thinks I feed her every time she cries. But honestly, she doesn't look 10lbs...But she feels it.

Then I asked about her diarrehea and he said "well when you stuff her full of formula it's gotta come out somehow!"....She only eats 4oz every 4hours. She only feeds for 25 minutes, burbing included. So I don't know what the f*ck he's taking about.

Then I asked about her belly button. He said it was "an umbilical herniation(aka an outie) and it's herniated further than normal because she's so fat."-end quote!! Are you f*ckin serious!! He said it should start to sink in when she's about 4.
We're gonna tape a quarter to her belly over her belly button and sort of force it back down. I push on it all the time and it doesn't bother her, so i'm sure the quarter will be painless. If it doesn't work...Oh well.

So then he tells me to take her off of the cereal at night and start giving her vegetables throughout the day with a spoon only. She's been eating oatmeal cereal for 3 weeks w/a spoon, so she basically a pro!!
Then he tells me I can start giving her diluted kool-aid, power aid, gator aid, 10k, or propelle instead of sugar water.

She's 6.3 weeks old and doing and eating things most babies don't do until 4months. She eats from a spoon and eats veggies...

I wouldn't recommend feeding her solids so early. Speaking from personal experience, I put my daughter on solids at 10 weeks old and she became obese.

at the time I thought I was doing good but by the time she was 6 months old she weighed the same as a 1 year old. My doctor went mad and I had to cut down her food.

Looking back at photos now and comparing her to my son upsets me as she was very overweight and it wasn't good for her. Although your daughter may love solids, she shouldn't have it so early. Please waitt til the 4 month marker at least.

Of course its up to you at the end of the day. But maybe you could just try formula for hungrier babies? The health people give the 4 month marker for a reason...

Good luck whatever you decide.

Why don't you just let her belly button be? If it's supposed to go down, allow it to happen on its own. I wouldn't recommend trying to force it to go down with a quarter.

Feel free to call my bluff, but I think your doctor is absolutely crazy for telling you to give your .I.N.F.A.N.T daughter anything besides formula at her age. Especially .Koolaid, which has no nutritional value and harmful sugars. I'd urge you to get a second opinion...

Yeh that doesnt sound good. Ive read and been told you shouldnt give a baby .A.N.Y solid foods until they are 4 months old. Some people even wait until 5-6 months. This includes cereal in a bottle which is also a bad thing to do. Ok your baby might sleep better because it fills them up but its still wrong thing to do. Not good for their digestive system when they are under 4 months old. Only give milk and water. People seem to shove a bottle in their babies mouth just to stop them crying, so they end up fat, to me thats abuse by lazy parents. They should comfort him/her in other ways and stuff not keep feeding them just to shut them up! -no wonder they get diarohea and allergies, cos they are given too much. (maybe water instead of more n more milk, if you .H.A.V.E to give a bottle, would be better?...Idk and im not on about anyone here personally, just in general)

im still breastfeeding my son 100%, hes perfect average weight for his age. Im going to start introducing him to baby rice mixed with milk when hes 4 months old like the health professionals say is right. Then pureed (sp) fruits, then veggies.

what are you on about taping stuff to her belly button. Thats total madness and cruel! Plus they are really dirty, so it could give her belly button an infection.....Gawd just leave it alone, the doctor said it will heal itself in time! Damnit.

Well i've done some research and kool aid does have calcium which her soy formula lacks. Prior to today she was drinking sugar water in between her feedings, which literally has no nutritional value. Her soy does have some calcium, but not the amount she needs. She does also take vitamins so she is being supplemented in that way as well.

I know he sounds crazy, but i've personally spoken with women who completely agree with his methods. I must admit, he's old school, but he is still a doctor.

I'm still kinda confused about my decisions of her belly button. I'm just gonna try it and see what happens. If nothing happens, then i'll just let it be...Ya know?
