I would like to share mine too I think its healing to just get things off your chest Smile

i became engaged to my fiancee in october of 05 I had been a virgin up until then and really wanted to wait until marriage...He not so much there was a lot of pressure and I caved. A decision I will never stop regretting. I became pregnant a few days after my birthday. I remember laying in the bed and I just new I could just feel it I dont know how to explain it but I knew. I tried to deny it for a few weeks until I missed my period in november I drove a town away and bought a preggo test, I took it in the bathroom and when I saw that plus sign I sobbed for an hour. I dont know that I have ever felt so scared in my life, I called my fiancee who was so suppourtive I can honestly say I dont know what I wouldve done without him I was very suicidal leading up to my abortion and he really was able to keep me from doing anything durastic.

The first time we went to the clinic I was a wreck! Only to be told I was to early to come back in two weeks Rolling Eyes so the second time was even worse and worse yet I had the worst morning noon and night sickness. I had to wait hours for my turn to go in and I remember how awful it was hearing the suction of the machine while I was waiting. I had anastetic so I was out during the procedure, but they had the blood and like tiny gummy parts left out in plain sight from the other abortions and the doctor was so rough. I am having a hard time healing now but I have faith that god will bring me though

Thanks for sharing your story, changed. I hope that you find some kind of healing soon. It sounds like you may need to see a professional-therapist or clergy-to help you out. There is also an abortion forum for people who are really suffering- google "pass abortion support" and it should be the first link listed.

Best of luck!

hun, most of us here would never condem you for how you feel about your choice, or for making the choice!

I personally wish you the best of luck, love, and life! I know with help, you can feel good about yourself again, and accept yourself, your choice, and how your future is still bright, perhaps even brighter. There was a reason for your choice; and now it's done; and we all wish you recovery and love for yourself, and from others Smile

i am glad you are going to get help; abortion can be a really big deal and have huge impacts on people-no one should have to go through it alone.

Best of luck to you, and continue to post on here if you feel like it. Smile

Sorry to hear you had a miscarriage.

But onto the theme of this thread, I think it should be made a sticky so other newbies don't need to be searching for it. Some won't look through all the posts and won't know it exists.

I had an abortion when I was 18 years old. It was awful and to this day I have night mares over it. I don't think it should be legal to have an abortion. It was so sad to me. I often wonder how women can say it did not bother them. I think they must have a very cold heart. And I wonder how many other women feel the pain of what they did because they had a choice. I never ended up having kids because I felt I already had my chance and killed it.

I'm sorry that your own experience with abortion was a bad one, but you must also realise that different women go through different emotions, perhaps due to the circumstances surrounding the decision to have a termination. ABortion must be legal because, although you personally had a bad experience, not all women do, and you cannot take away their rights because of your past. Let the women themselves be the judge of whether they feel what they have done is right or not.

First off, let me start by saying this is a wonderful site. Here is my story~

I had my abortion May 31, 2007. I'm 31 and been in a commited relationship for 15 years. We have always been careful when it came to birth control. We had both talked about having kids someday in the future, but never really decided for sure if and when we wanted them. I have had serious problems with depression for many years and it has really taken a toll on our relationship. He doesn't understand (and doesn't try too). Well anyway, one night in the "heat of the moment" we started making love without a condom, after a few seconds I pulled away and told him to put a condom on in which he did. Needless to say I was worried about getting pregnant and could not wait until my period, but low and behold it never came. I had cramped some like I was going to start but them never did, I was in deep denial. I finally couldn't stand it no longer and went and got a home pregnancy test, I took it when I got home and got a faint line so I took the second test that came in the box and same thing happened with that one. At this point i kept saying to myself that I wasn't pregnant so I went and got the first response early pregnancy test and took that one as soon as I got home, and yep you guessed it positive. I was so upset because I knew I wasn't ready mentally or physically.

I didn't tell my BF because I knew he would want to keep it and abortion to him is out of the question. So I called my local Family planning Clinic to get a another test done which came back positive of course, I made the abortion appointment that day for the following week. I went in and had the abortion by myself, I had the surgical one done and here they don't put you out at all, you are fully awake and alert! It didn't take that long but to me it seem liked forever. I haven't told anyone because my family is against abortion and my friends are as well. So I have been dealing with all this alone, from worrying about being pregnant, to finding out I was pregnant, to having the abortion and my recovery and it has been so hard. I am now having my first period since my abortion and it is very heavy and painful. I don't regret my decision and know that it was the right thing for me to do, but I am soooooooo glad I found this website and this forum, it has been so helpful and I'm glad I finally got to share my story. Thank you!

Thank you so much. You all have been so helpful. I have been lurking on this site for a couple weeks and can't believe how helpful and caring everyone is. I have always been pro choice but always told myself that I would never have an abortion, but you never know how you will react or feel until you are in that situation, thats why I'm so glad I found you all.
