Did I just miscarry a chemical pregnancy or am I pregnant no Posted: 06-06-06 14:49pm
Sorry, this is a long question because I
need to give some history.
PMH: Asthma
PSH: None
MEds: NOne
I naturally miscarried at 6.5 wk
gestational age on april 3, 2006. This
was my first pregnancy. I stopped
bleeding on April 13th. BHCG on the 15th
was 458.
I bleed brown blood from the 24th to the
28th and BHCG was 45.
BHCG 21 on May 5th, 11 on May 12th, and
BHCG of 7 on May 19th.
I had my first normal menses on May 15th
through the 21st.
My ovulation kit was read low from May
22nd until May 29th.
I had sex on the 24th, unprotected.
My ovulation kit read high from May 30th
until presently June 6th. For elevated
progesterone but, still no LH appeared for
ovulation on an egg.
My problem is that I began to bleed brown
vaginal blood (spotting) from May 30th
until presently June 6th. I have had
negative urine tests for pregnancy and my
BHCG is 3 on June 5th. I spotted the
first few days then bleed 1 regular
tampon, then began to spotting again.
Question: Did I just miscarry a chemical
pregnancy or am I pregnant now and
implanting. I am confused because my last
BHCG was 7 two weeks ago and now is BHCG
of 3. My urine pregnancy test in
negative. My ovulation kit is reading
high progesterone. And, I am bleeding
brown blood. I am worried because I am RH
negative and had to take Rhogam with the
last pregnancy. I have pregnancy
symptoms, increased urination, nausea and
vomiting, bloating etc. Please help!

Everything will become clear in a week, or
so. Your ovulation probably occured on the
30th of May. The presence of
progesterone is proof of ovulation and
formation of the yellow body. LH levels
increase just before ovulation; this is
the ideal time to have intercourse.
Possible fertilization occurs soon after
ovulation so, if you conceived that would
have happen on/around the 31st of May.
Implantation occurs 8-10 days after
fertilization. Then, a pregnancy test
becomes positive. I recommend you take
another pregnancy test on the 9th of June.
If the test is positive or the beta-hCG
(BHCG) levels have increased... then you
are most likely pregnant. We can’t talk
about miscarriage without a pregnancy. It
is normal to have some weak spotting
during ovulation (“ovulatory
spotting”), but not during the
implantation. I hope that your spotting
was ovulatory, although I am not sure
about that. Let us be patient to see.
